The Streaming Wars Have Begun

It has been a long time coming, but the streaming video wars are underway, with tech giants like Amazon and Netflix on one side, and the content companies like NBC, CBS and Time Warner on the other.

The prize is the future of television viewing. This year, Americans will watch an average of one hour and two minutes per day watching video content on a desktop or mobile device. Traditional television will see four hours and 11 minutes per day, according to Emarketer. But video consumption habits are changing, and Netflix, Amazon and Hulu are on the front lines of that change.
