ABC is developing a new scripted comedy series with up-and-coming stand-up comic Iliza Shlesinger, perhaps best known for winning the sixth season of NBC's "Last Comic Standing." But don't look for it as part of your regular old TV package -- ABC is planning to release this and other new series exclusively on its streaming app WatchABC, according to Variety.

Other networks have tried getting deeper into the streaming game in different ways. CBS' new "Star Trek" series, for example, will debut on its CBS All Access service, a stand-alone streaming service that doesn't require a TV subscription. HBO has said it will offer shows from Jon Stewart and Bill Simmons on HBO Now, also a stand-alone service.

WatchABC, however, still requires a subscription from participating cable TV providers. Variety reports that it's not clear whether the network is planning on changing that rule in light of its new offerings. It might make certain episodes of Shlesinger's show, and other new ones, available for free, or allow viewers to purchase each episode one by one.

In the meantime, Shlesinger fans can catch her 2013 stand-up special, "War Paint," and her new one, "Freezing Hot," on Netflix.
