NBA Rookie Is Literally Watching His Own Back Thanks To Tattoo

You do you, Rondae.

There’s nothing like self-confidence. Just ask Brooklyn Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who permanently emblazoned his entire back with a picture of … Brooklyn Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

"I was getting a story [tattooed] on my back about where I started, where I am coming from. Just the stepping stones," Hollis-Jefferson told Newsday. "And this was the biggest picture of the portrait I was getting. So I was like, 'Let me get that out of the way.' And I tell people I will get it finished in the future, the whole thing. But now I tell them, 'Nah, that's just me watching my back.'"

That seems totally reasonable! Now he will always have a very emotive, very pumped up version of himself literally watching out for him. Makes sense! 💯

Just weeks into his first NBA campaign, Hollis-Jefferson has already become quite the media darling. After proving that NBA Players Are People Too when he grouchily complained about the New York real-estate market, the small forward spent a chunk of one of his first professional paychecks buying a new house for his mother.

This is just the kind of guy who should be playing under the bright lights of New York City. What a time to be alive.
