'You Are A Fat, Ugly Human' Cards Handed To Women On Subway

This actually happened.

Public transit just got a whole lot meaner.

An organization calling itself Overweight Haters Ltd. has been handing out fat-shaming cards to women on London's subway, the Huffington Post UK reported. One recipient was observed weeping.

Passenger Kara Florish noted on Twitter Saturday that she received one of the cards, calling the message "hateful" and "cowardly."

She photographed the card, which begins, "It's really not glandular, it's your gluttony. Our organisation hates and resents fat people. We object to the enormous amount of food resources you consume while half the world starves."

Passenger Sean Thomas Knox reported a similar incident a few days later:

Knox said a well-dressed bearded hipster handed the card to the woman, calling it a "random act of pointless cruelty." Others chimed in with disgust on his Twitter while also presenting the possibility that it could be an art project or publicity stunt.

But British Transport Police seem to be taking the matter seriously, asking anyone who has received a note to report it.
