CNN Boss Jeff Zucker Apologizes for Controversial Freddie Gray Story

CNN president Jeff Zucker on Tuesday apologized for a controversial story on the network’s website Monday that called slain Baltimore resident Freddie Gray the son of an “illiterate heroin addict.”

An insider told TheWrap that Zucker, speaking at a town hall event for staffers, said the “intent of the story was to show that Freddie came from a tough environment but it came out wrong and was updated on the digital end.”
