Lionel Richie Sort Of Confirms He's Going To Work With Adele

*Raises eyebrows*

In between belting out Adele's catchy lyrics to "Hello" and pouring your emotions into countless boxes of tissues, you may have noticed this awesome Adele/Lionel Richie mashup that went viral just last week.

BlendTV created the mashup, which shows how similar Adele's song is to Richie's 1983 hit, also called "Hello."

"You have no idea how many people called me on the phone and said, 'Are you going to let her get away with that? She stole "Hello,"'" said Richie in an interview with E! News. "Then I said, I don't own 'Hello.' I own the melody."

Despite the similarities, Richie told E! News that there's no bad blood between the two artists. In fact, the 66-year-old singer said they're going to collaborate after Adele finishes her upcoming tour.

"We are going to be doing something together -- that's already almost in the works ... I can almost say that we are talking, but right now she has a mission," said Lionel to E!. "Her mission is [to] get her record out and go on tour, so until she finishes that cycle, that won't happen just yet. She is committed to that."

It seems like Richie might have a little competition when it comes to Adele collaborators. Britney Spears is another huge fan, and uploaded a video of herself dancing to "Hello" over the weekend.
