Man With Most Teeth In World Has Reason To Smile

Finally, a story with some bite.

Chew on this: The average person has 32 teeth in his or her mouth, but Vijay Kumar V.A. is by no means average.

Kumar, of Bangalore, India, holds the Guinness World Record for most teeth in one mouth -- 37 in all.

The 27-year-old first noticed his bite was unusual as a teen, but he only attempted to see if he qualified for Guinness a couple years ago.

Kumar is proud of the Guinness recognition and believes it makes up for the challenges he faces.

"Wherever I go, I have to brush after lunch," he told Guinness. "Sometimes if I don't clean it up, seeds get stuck in the upper jaw."

Getting the Guinness honor was just the first step. The harder part was getting a picture of his teeth, according to staff photographer Ranald MacKechnie.

"It's not a big place to get a camera and lights in," MacKechnie said. "There was some food for thought on how to handle this."
