6 Amazing Lipstick Brands You've Probably Never Heard Of

There's so much more out there than MAC, you know?

If you were to take a peek inside the makeup bags of the beauty editors and writers here at The Huffington Post, you'd see how committed we are to particular lipstick brands. From NARS' Semi Mattes (hey, Jungle Red!) to Tom Ford Lips & Boys' Neutrals (we are crushing hard on Beau), we can't stop hoarding these classic shades. But there've been a few under-the-radar lipstick brands to come across our desks that have made us reconsider our go-to lippies.

Here are six lipstick brands that are sure to be on everyone's lips very soon.

1
ColourPop Cosmetics
Don't let the British spelling fool you. Created in Los Angeles, ColourPop has a range of lipsticks, pencils and glosses ($5-$30) in trendy shades with funky names like "Nevermind" and "Ouiji." Affordable prices aside, recent collaborations with celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg and YouTube vlogger ItsMyRayeRaye are sure to propel the brand's popularity.
2
Stowaway
Stowaway is proof that brilliant ideas often evolve after sharing a good meal. Co-founders Chelsa Crowley and Julie Fredrickson dreamed up this brand of "right-sized" products (hence the name stowaway) to cut down on the amount of stuff they schlep in their bags. The results include a line of creme lipsticks ($15) that are paraben- and cruelty-free, yet highly pigmented and flattering on all skin tones.
3
Chosungah 22

One of the latest brands to come out of the massive K-beauty movement, Chosungah 22's Flavorful Lipsticks ($18) appear super bright to the naked eye. However, they actually go on like a lip balm with just the right amount of tint and fruity fragrance.
4
Winky Lux
If you are searching for a toxic-free lipstick brand that doesn't cost a fortune, then you'll want to check out Winky Lux. The company's Matte Lip Velour collection ($13 a tube) includes the most beautiful shades of red and pink, as well as unconventional hues of green, gray and purple. And the tiny, luxe gold tubes fit right into your jeans pocket.
5
Gold Label Cosmetics
Makeup artist-turned-cosmetics creator Kristen Elise Brown is the brains behind this opulent lipstick brand ($14). She managed to create a perfect long-wear formula that's also free of parabens and gluten. You've got to love a girl who combines great makeup with great skincare!
6
MAKE Beauty
MAKE matte lipsticks ($25) are truly a work of art. Encased in a sleek, black, structured tube are neutral lip colors that appeal to the ultimate minimalist or the eclectic individual.
