Hillary Clinton Reaches Key Milestone, Thanks To Granddaughter

A sweet moment in every grandparent's life.

Hillary Clinton has celebrated many milestones throughout her political career. A recent one, though, was a bit more personal.

In an interview with People, Clinton shared that the night of the first Democratic debate in October was the same night her granddaughter, Charlotte, first called her "grandma." The Democratic presidential candidate described the moment as "pretty exciting."

"We're going to let her decide if she wants to stick with that," she said.

A month before the big moment, Clinton told ABC News' David Muir that -- when it came to the name that Charlotte would call her -- she was being patient. "Grandma’s fine. Madame President’s fine," she joked. "Whatever she chooses."

Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, has also shared with People that her mom enjoys reading stories and singing classic kids' songs like "The Wheels on the Bus" to little Charlotte, who turned 1 in September.

It looks like "Grandma" has many fun-filled playdates ahead.
