Donald Trump's many Twitter feuds have often turned ugly... but this might be the first to have an adorable twist.
On Wednesday, the GOP presidential frontrunner fired off one of his infamous late-night insults, this time targeting conservative media personality and founder of TheBlaze Glenn Beck:
.@GlennBeck got fired like a dog by #Fox. The Blaze is failing and he wanted to have me on his show. I said no - because he is irrelevant.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 17, 2015
Beck fired back... just not in the way you might expect:

It's not exactly clear what it means to be "fired like a dog," but Trump is fond of the expression anyway.
He has previously said that Chuck Todd would be "fired like a dog" from NBC (he wasn't), and that Erick Erickson had been "fired like a dog" from Red State (he says he had already resigned months before Trump's tweet).
Trump's repeated use of the phrase led to some confused responses on Twitter:
Hey @realDonaldTrump: "Fired like a dog" is a lousy simile. Dogs are rarely fired, for cause or anything else.

@pourmecoffee @ntabebe You can't fire a dog. I've tried. They stick around.

How on earth do you get "fired like a dog"? How does one go about firing a dog? Does said dog get severance package https://t.co/h8VNVK6mtS

@arthur_affect "Don't you mean *shot* like--?" "THAT'S NOT THE PHRASE." "I think it is, Donal--" "FIRED. FIRED LIKE A DOG." "But--" "FIRED!"

"Fired like a dog" is a Trump favorite, but who fires dogs? https://t.co/QRQfDgUc50
