America's Test Kitchen has come up with an easy, fool-proof way to make homemade pie dough and it's all thanks to booze. Booze, more specifically vodka, gives your dough the amount of moisture it needs to roll out easily without allowing too much gluten formation. (Gluten makes pie crust tough.) This is thanks to the ethanol in the alcohol, which slows the formation of gluten.
