How A Superfan Dad Left A Secret Message In His Baby's Name

His wife didn't find out until two years later.

Deciding on a baby name can be tough. But one dad -- inspired by his favorite soccer team -- took the baby-naming process to the next level, without letting his wife in on the secret until years later.

Australian mom Clare Smith shared her story with a UK magazine on how she and her husband chose their daughter's name, Lanesra.

Her husband, a huge fan of the London Arsenal Football Club, came up with Lanesra, which is Arsenal spelled backwards.

Smith said she thought Lanesra was "unique and romantic" sounding, but she uncovered the real inspiration behind the name when her daughter was 2 years old.

Sounds like Smith is happy with her daughter's name regardless -- definitely a win-win!
