'Bikini Barista' Dies 4 Days After Coffee Stand Explodes

A young woman died four days after the drive-thru "bikini barista" stand where she was working exploded.

Mother-of-two Courtney Campbell, 25, fled the Sinners and Saints Coffee Co. kiosk she owned in Everett, Washington, after it blew up last Thursday afternoon.

She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. But the blaze burned more than 80 percent of her body and she succumbed to her injuries on Monday, according to KING 5.

Dramatic photographs taken at the scene showed flames soaring high into the air and spreading to a nearby car.

Campbell, who is survived by two young daughters aged 3 and 8, bought the business last March, reports KOMO News. She was planning to expand her operation to another stand.

Friend Ben Scott paid tribute to Campbell, telling KOMO News: "The world lost a beautiful soul and I lost my best friend." He later heartbreakingly posted on Facebook, "Courtney was one of the only humans I’ve ever known that cared more about me than what I could do for her. I've spent the last few hours crying."

The exact cause of the blaze has not been determined, reports MyNorthWest. Investigators, however, believe a propane tank used to heat the stand contributed to the explosion.

Friends are hosting a benefit event on Saturday and a share of the proceeds will go to Campbell’s daughters. More than $6,000 has also been raised for the family via a separate GoFundMe page.
