Nikki Haley Represents GOP Embrace Of A 'Homosexual Agenda,' Pundit Claims

Yup, Bryan Fischer is back in action.

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was praised by many fellow Republicans for her rebuttal to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

Still, Haley's remarks weren't enough for a number of rightwing GOP supporters, who criticized the governor for calling out "the angriest voices" in the Republican party, including presidential candidate hopeful Donald Trump. Still, it was Haley's vow to "respect differences in modern families" that infuriated conservative radio host Bryan Fischer, Right Wing Watch reported.

Fischer, who has been an outspoken opponent of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community for some time, interpreted Haley's line as indicative of the Republican party's embrace of the "homosexual agenda," and blasted the governor in a Wednesday broadcast, video of which can be found above, on his radio show.

"The Republican Party has officially embraced sodomy-based marriage and the entire homosexual agenda. We know from the research, it's a form of child abuse for a child to be raised in a same-sex household," Fischer, who is the former director of issues analysis at the American Family Association, said. "It is a form of child abuse; all of the best in social research confirms that and here is Nikki Haley saying we're not going to fight for those children."

Fischer's decision to emphasize the only subtle nod to the LGBT community in Haley's rebuttal, isn't particularly surprising given his history of homophobic rhetoric. Last year, he co-opted Lady Gaga's pro-equality mantra for his own, anti-gay argument, claiming that the only justification in identifying as a Christian (and hence opposed to LGBT rights) in today's society was that he was "born this way."

If only he would focus his efforts on finding out whether or not there's a genetic predisposition to being a sore loser.
