This Dog In Brazil Probably Plays Soccer Way Better Than You

Scotch has some real silky skills.

Move over Neymar, there's a new Brazilian soccer star in town.

Border collie Scotch is turning heads with his tantalizing skills.

The three-year-old has been caught on camera heading and kicking the ball on a beach with owner Felipe Eckhardt and his friends.

Multiple videos going viral see the pooch playing altinha, or "keep-ups", on golden sands near Rio de Janeiro.

Eckhardt, 31, said he was overwhelmed with the attention his pup was receiving from the clips.

"My wife and I spent Christmas Day being tagged in posts and getting messages and calls from friends in Brazil and abroad who'd seen the video," El Comercio reports him as saying.

The publicist told Ruptly that Scotch -- dubbed "the Neymar dog" because his ball control is jokingly said to be on a par with the FC Barcelona striker -- is "these days the best (dog) football player in the world."

"Let's see now if someday he can play with Neymar and even get more famous than he is already," Eckhardt added.

Scotch now has his own YouTube and Instagram accounts.

But, according to the New York Post, laws just introduced in Brazil banning dogs from the beach mean he may prevent him from playing on the sand any more.

"It is a shame that just as he has achieved this great fame as a canine footballer, he's been shown the red card," Eckhardt told the publication. "I will have to buy him a big bone to compensate -- and find somewhere else where he can play."
