Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate who built his entire campaign around winning yet finished second in Monday night's Iowa caucuses, has gone quiet on Twitter.

Trump, who has nearly 6 million followers on Twitter, seems to fire off an endless stream of insults and retweets other people praising him, hasn't posted on the microblogging site in over 13 hours.

His last tweet urged Iowans to go out and caucus for him.

UPDATE: Trump broke his Twitter silence Tuesday morning:

A note to our readers: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims -- 1.6 billion members of an entire religion -- from entering the U.S.
