New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will stop at nothing to project an image of devil-may-care assertiveness.

Brash straight talk is his brand -- something he showed to great effect in his attacks against Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) at Saturday night's GOP debate.

But Christie’s tendency to try to take command went a little too far at the end of an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace.

“Gov. Christie, thank you,” Wallace said to close the interview.

“Great to have you on, Chris,” Christie responded.

“Did you say, ‘Great to have you’”? Wallace asked, chuckling.

Christie, appearing to realize he had made a mistake, embraced the humor in the situation.

“Yeah, I've pretty much taken over the show,” Christie said. “It's over, buddy.”
