Woman's Body Lay Undiscovered For Months In Walmart Parking Lot

Lauren Jessie Moss was reported missing by her family in November 2015.

The body of a 22-year-old woman was found last week after it apparently went unnoticed for three months inside a car at a California parking lot.

According to The San Francisco Chronicle, employees of the Walmart shopping center in Salinas found Lauren Jessie Moss's body inside her Volkswagen Jetta on Feb. 3.

Security camera footage indicates the vehicle had been in the same parking spot since December. Footage beyond that month was unavailable, so the exact date of the vehicles arrival remains unclear, The Associated Press reported.

Dark-tinted windows and a sunshade on the dashboard reportedly helped conceal the body inside the vehicle.

Moss was last seen alive on Nov. 13, the day she left a Seaside rehab center. Family members had reported her missing to police.

An autopsy will be performed to determine a time and cause of death.

The woman's sister told Monterey's KSBW News that a suicide note and drug needle were found inside the Jetta, suggesting Moss took her life the same day she left rehab.
