John Oliver Shows How Apple vs. FBI Case Could Put Your Dick Pics At Risk

The tech company is "barely one step ahead of hackers at all times."

Apple's battle with the FBI over iPhone encryption is about more than just access to the phone used by one of the terrorists in the San Bernardino shooting.

As John Oliver pointed out on HBO's "Last Week Tonight," strong encryption is needed to protect everything we hold important.

"Our financial information, health records, dick pics, trade secrets, classified government records, dick pics, our physical location, the physical location of our dicks, credit card information, dick pics, and pictures of our dicks," the comedian said.

The feds say they just want help in this one instance, but Oliver said there's no chance it'll end with just the phone in the San Bernardino case.

"Think of the government as your dad," the host quipped. "If he asks you to help him with his iPhone, be careful because if you’re going to do it once, you’re going to be doing it 14 times a day."

But Oliver said Apple hasn't exactly been forthcoming about its security and, more specifically, the security flaws in the iPhone -- and if they want to make a stronger case for the American people, they should come clean.

Oliver helps them out with a special commercial for the iPhone that shows how Apple is "barely one step ahead of hackers at all times."
