Adam Driver On How 'Star Wars' Changed His Life

He also talks about his time in the Marines.

Thanks to a role in "Star Wars," "Girls" actor Adam Driver has entered a whole new galaxy of fame.

The 32-year-old appeared on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" Tuesday night and talked about his newfound stardom and status as a sex symbol.

Driver said he "hasn't gone outside much" since "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hit theaters in December, but added that he doesn't mind when young fans approach him about his role as Kylo Ren.

"The kids are great," Driver said. "Before, parents were like 'Stay away from my kids' and now they're like 'Get up there and take a picture ... You'll appreciate it later.'"

Driver joked that parents scare him, as does his new role as a "millennial sex symbol."

"Yeah that's nice," he said, half-smiling, half-cringing. "I don't know what to say to that..."

Colbert told Driver to accept his sexiness before quickly reminding viewers of the actor's past as a Marine:

When Colbert asked if Driver had a nickname in the Marines, he explained how he escaped major teasing.

"There was another guy in my unit that had big ears," Driver said, "So he was 'Ears 1' and I guess I was 'Ears 2'... He kind of got the majority of it, the verbal punishment."

Adam, here's to you and your natural charm.
