Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day Is Here, With A Global Warming Twist

Today, ice cream lovers hit the jackpot.

April 12 is Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's, and locations all across the country are giving out free scoops from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There's no catch: The company has been honoring this tradition since 1979, and they don't even mind if you come back for a second free scoop.

Even cooler is the fact that Ben & Jerry's is using this day to educate people on climate change. On the Free Cone Day website, they're asking fans to sign an online petition for a quicker, more effective transition to 100 percent clean energy.
