An Easy Evening Makeup Look For Mature Skin, And How To Do It

A little foundation, eyeliner and bright pink lipstick adds a "wow" factor.

Figuring out the perfect evening makeup look isn't always easy, no matter your age. However, having a routine in place that works as you grow older will save you lots of time when glamming up for a wedding ceremony, graduation party or any fabulous affair.

Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge shares her secrets to elegant evening makeup in this video tutorial. Inspired by Italian actress and model Isabella Rossellini's look at Lancôme's 80th Anniversary Party in Paris, Eldridge proves that women over 50 can pull off a bright pink lip. The trick: using a small concealer brush to apply thin layers of lipstick in sweeping motions, following the natural shape of your lips. Then, outline with a lip pencil to help create the illusion of a plumper pout.

Watch the makeup tutorial above for the steps behind this simple evening makeup look, including how primer works to prevent eye makeup from creasing into fine lines and the technique to mixing brown and grey powders to fill in sparse eyebrows.
