Oprah Winfrey is the latest star to weigh in on Michael Strahan's sudden departure from "Live with Kelly and Michael."

News that Strahan blindsided his co-host, Kelly Ripa, didn't sit well with the OWN media mogul one bit.

"Nobody should ever be blindsided," Oprah said in an interview with ET Online. "I don't know who's in charge, but somebody should've said, 'This is gonna happen.' You shouldn't have to read it in the paper. Ever."

Strahan shocked loyal "Live" viewers on Tuesday when he announced his sudden departure for a full-time gig on "Good Morning America."

Reports soon circulated that Strahan blindsided Ripa by not cluing her in on his exit. Though unconfirmed by Ripa herself, the talk show host's decision not to show up for work on Wednesday (followed by reports that she's out for at least another week) speaks volumes.

As Strahan prepares for his gig in September -- and the search for a co-host begins -- Oprah said that Ripa will have no trouble anchoring the show by herself. She also added that Strahan will soar at "Good Morning America."

"I think Michael's so great," Oprah told ET. "He's like a natural talent. He won't get any sleep, but he will be great."
