Cam Newton Is About To Make A Whole Lot Of Kids' Dreams Come True

His new Nickelodeon show, "All In with Cam Newton," premieres in June.

All fall, we watched every week as Cam Newton made a handful of kids’ days, giving away touchdown balls to the eager young Panther fans in the stands above him.

It turns out, Newton has spent the entirety of his offseason in a similar fashion, working, playing piano, fencing and even learning the ins and outs of amphibian life, all to make more kids’ wishes come true, in any way imaginable.

That’s thanks to his new Nickelodeon show, "All In with Cam Newton," which is set to premiere at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 3. As the newly released trailer tells us, Newton is “helping awesome kids take their dream to the extreme.” Playing a “mentoring role,” as The Washington Post phrased it, friend, teacher and jokester Newton pulls enough strings to have these kids’ fantasies become reality.

So a young girl shoots baskets, tears on her face, with Lisa Leslie. A young boy gets to design clothes, a smile on his face.

Nickelodeon first introduced the show last September, even before Newton threw, ran and dabbed his way to international fame, a Super Bowl bid and the NFL MVP trophy. But none of his largely newfound renown made a difference to Newton, as he’s spent his reprieve from football not lounging on a beach somewhere, but hosting and co-producing this 20-episode season.

That speaks for his passion for today’s youth,’’ Jeff Sutphen, one of the producers, explained to ESPN recently. “He could have gone on vacation or just laid around and relaxed. Keep in mind, he’s got a newborn kid himself. It is a huge commitment, and he’s all-in.’’

Before the trailer fades to black, “SuperCam” utters three catchphrases.

  • "I can help you."
  • "Got a dream? Let’s make it happen."
  • "It’s your turn to be Super."

And as Sutphen emphasized, this is just the latest example of Newton’s penchant for volunteer work. Newton’s a man who’s been torn down time and time again for seemingly harmless actions like dancing and dabbing. Hopefully this new series will make clear, once and for all, his continual commitment to the community, its kids and all those who have dared to tell him their dreams.
