Hours of binge-watching > sunshine?

Summer 2016 is going to be big for Netflix.

On Monday, Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos announced in a statement on the website that there will be a slew of new movies coming in the next season for U.S. customers, most notably from Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel. A deal was signed back in 2012 and is finally becoming a reality.

"From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive U.S. pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar," he wrote.

While the movies will not become available until after the Blu-ray and digital releases,The Verge notes, it's still good timing for fans. No word yet on which specific titles will be included.

“The 2016 (Disney) releases will start rolling on in September and we’ll share specific dates/titles closer to their premiere on the service,” a Netflix rep told Variety.

Some Disney movies that will no longer be featured on the streaming service next month include “Hercules,” “Mulan” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Other new additions include the Oscar-winning “Spotlight,” the “Jurassic Park” series and Netflix Original “The Fundamentals of Caring” starring Paul Rudd.
