But he agrees it was his greatest performance.

Sorry, Johnny, there's no hitting paws here.

Johnny Depp already doesn't like seeing his performances on camera, but on Tuesday, Jimmy Kimmel made the actor watch and explain his cringeworthy dog apology video. And it was ruff.

Depp and his wife, actress Amber Heard, recorded the apology video after failing to declare their dogs upon entering Australia caused a legal battle with the country. Depp agreed that the apology was perhaps his best performance, but the actor said there was a big reason he didn't watch it after recording it.

"No, because I didn't want to kill myself," said Depp.

Yeah, that's a pretty good reason.

Depp, who has mocked the video before, also took some parting shots at Barnaby Joyce, the Australian politician who was at the center of the dog controversy and called himself Depp's Hannibal Lecter.

"He looks somehow like inbred with a tomato," said Depp, adding, "It's not a criticism."

So at least there are no hard feelings there.
