Boy George Explains What He Meant When He Said He Slept With Prince

It was a joke, everyone.

Last year, while Boy George was acting as a coach on "The Voice UK," he and fellow coach Paloma Faith were talking about who they have dueted with. Faith said, “Well, OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.” To which George replied: “Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.”

As Queerty notes, the incident caused some major drama on the set of the show and "The Voice UK" producers "halted taping to have a private conversation with George."

This week, the singer sat down with Wendy Williams and explained the moment to the talk show host.

“Of course that’s not true. It was a joke," he said of the late singer. “I’m a massive Prince fan. I met him once in Italy and he was suitably eccentric. He was exactly what you’d expect him to be. He was Prince!”

After the "Voice UK" episode last year, George's spokesperson was clear that it was all in jest.

"He went on to say that he had Prince posters on his wall as a kid. He was never being serious."
