Last week at a rally in San Diego, Donald Trump called federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel’s Mexican heritage a conflict of interest in his ability to fairly rule in a case against Trump University. Trump said Curiel (who was born in Indiana) couldn’t possibly behave in an unbiased way because the presumptive Republican nominee has proposed building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
Since then, a lot of people have called other people racists -- including but not limited to Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.), who said President Barack Obama is racist because of his "policies and rhetoric," and Trump, who has accused "the people asking the questions" of being the real racists in this whole situation. There is also a whole mess of people who have said Trump has said some unsavory things but isn't necessarily racist.
