Hillary Clinton Launches First General Election Campaign Ad

“Do we help each other? Do we respect each other? Do we stand together?”

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton launched her campaign's first ad of the general election on Sunday, a contrast spot that portrays the former secretary of state as a unifier in comparison to her Republican challenger, real estate mogul Donald Trump.

In the 60-second ad, entitled "Who We Are," footage of the Democratic hopeful meeting with voters and traveling the globe is spliced with footage of Trump inciting violence at campaign rallies and mocking a reporter with a disability.

“Do we help each other? Do we respect each other? Do we stand together?” Clinton asks in the ad. "I know what I believe. It's wrong to pit people against each other."

The message hews closely to Clinton's recent well-received speech in San Diego in which she urged Americans to build bridges between people rather than to build walls. It also reprises a phrase Clinton has tested out on Trump during the primary: "dangerously" divisive.

"What kind of America do we want to be? Dangerously divided, or strong and united?" Clinton adds.

Trump responded via his favorite social medium on Sunday morning.
