Reasons to marry Ryan Reynolds?

But Blake Lively, who wed Reynolds in 2012, had another equally compelling reason to settle down with the Canadian actor. And it wasn't to permanently remind us of that $200 million trainwreck "Green Lantern."

"I knew he would always be my best friend for my whole life. That was the biggest thing to me," Lively told Marie Claire in an interview for the magazine's July 2016 cover story. "I'd never known anything like the friendship that I had with him. I could like him as much as I loved him."

The couple are parents to a two-year-old daughter, James, and already expecting their second child. In Lively's eyes, family is most important, even though she admits raising kids in the public eye can be challenging at times.

"My family: That's the thing that I feel most protective of and the thing that I feel is the most exposed when I feel exploited," she said.

"Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had. We don't ever want to rob them of what we had, because we'd feel really selfish."

As long as Lively and Reynolds don't enroll their children at the Constance Billard School for Girls, we think they have a good shot at normal.
