A reveler at London's Pride parade received a huge surprise this weekend when his police officer boyfriend proposed amidst the festivities.

Snapshots and footage of the emotional moment was quickly posted to Twitter and YouTube, showing Phil Adlem getting down on one knee to pop the question to his now fiancé, Jonathan Sammons, at the June 25 parade, Time Out London reports.

The Met LGBT Network, which connects the LGBT members of London's police force, shared the incredible image below.

Sammons told ITV News that he was left "speechless" by the proposal. Meanwhile, Adlem said that though he wanted to ask Sammons to marry him, the moment itself was fairly spontaneous.

"It's been planned for a while, but not like this," he told ITV News.

The men received well-wishes from London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who tweeted his congratulations.

As it turned out, Adlem wasn't the only London officer to get engaged during the British capital's Pride celebrations. Earlier that day, Sam Philpot asked his boyfriend, Martin Coughlan, to marry him. Both men are police officers.

Their big moment was also captured on film.

"I was nervous at the idea of proposing because I’ve only recently come out," Philpot told Pink News. "When I asked advice from my senior officers who were in the parade, they were really helpful and talked to me about how I wanted it to be."

The end result, he noted, was "even better than I had imagined."

"People seeing the police as one of them helps to break down barriers, so it’s a good thing," he said.

Once again, the Met LGBT Network shared a stunning image of the two men sharing a sweet kiss after the proposal.

About 100 Met officers participated in London's Pride march this year, the BBC reports.

After a week that's been particularly challenging for many in the U.K., it's wonderful to see these beautiful moments emerge. Heartfelt congratulations, gentlemen!
