A New Streaming Deal Between Netflix And The CW Lets Us Catch Up On Shows Quicker

And new seasons of CW shows are up on the site now.

Netflix just keeps getting better.

The streaming service announced on Tuesday that it has inked a new multiyear deal with The CW allowing Netflix subscribers to watch CW shows even sooner after they air.

Beginning with the 2016-2017 TV season, full seasons of shows including “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Supergirl” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will be available on Netflix only eight days after their respective finales are broadcast. And the network’s 2015-2016 seasons are up now.

“Since the initial landmark deal in 2011, The CW’s programming has enjoyed tremendous success and increased exposure through Netflix, and our new agreement not only continues but enhances this valuable relationship,” Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, said in a statement.

“The CW has positioned itself for the future by transforming into a true hybrid network, rooted in broadcast while fully embracing the digital and streaming habits of the viewers.”

This is dope for one big reason. Licensing contracts have historically made it tough (or impossible) to catch up on current shows through Netflix or its streaming competitor Hulu. Hulu rolls out new episodes at a quicker pace -- but only up to five at a time. So, before this deal, if you were eight episodes behind on "Jane the Virgin" like us, you'd be waiting a while to catch up. But now you can watch them all on Netflix just a few days after the season finale.

The deal also includes three upcoming primetime programs: "Frequency," "No Tomorrow" and "Riverdale."

Start the popcorn, friends. It's time to binge-watch.
