Republican politicians and commentators aren’t hiding their fury at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for not endorsing their nominee Donald Trump while on stage at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night.

“I mean give me a break Ted, go ahead and endorse the man,” “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson told FOX News on Thursday morning. Ben Carson agreed, saying Cruz has a responsibility to endorse the nominee.

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) called Cruz’s speech “awful” and “selfish.”

“He’s a fraud. He’s a liar. He’s self-centered” and cannot be trusted, Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) told NBC News after the speech. Mike Huckabee said Cruz was a traitor to the party.

Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman, said Thursday that the Texas senator had “made a mistake.” Roger Stone, a former Trump advisor, called Cruz “a treacherous prick.”

Washington State Republican Party chairman Susan Hutchinson reportedly grew so angry in the arena on Wednesday night that security had to escort Cruz and his wife, Heidi, away.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims ― 1.6 billion members of an entire religion ― from entering the U.S.
