Georgia police arrested a man Wednesday in connection with the shooting deaths of two teens whose bodies were found behind a grocery store in an Atlanta suburb earlier this week.

Jeffrey Hazelwood, 20, of Roswell, is facing murder charges in connection with the shooting deaths of 17-year-olds Natalie Henderson and Carter Davis, according to the Roswell Police Department.

“Since the discovery of the victims, investigators have been collecting evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and speaking with anyone who may be able to contribute information,” Detective Zachary Frommer said in a press release. “This work led to the identification of Hazelwood as a suspect.”

Frommer said detectives located Hazelwood early Wednesday morning and took him into custody for questioning. The detective did not say what, if anything, Hazelwood revealed to police.

Henderson, of Roswell, and Davis, of Woodstock, “each died from a single gunshot wound of the head,” according to a press release issued by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office that ruled each death a homicide.

The medical examiner’s office did not elaborate on its findings and inquiries were directed to the Roswell Police Department, which has not returned The Huffington Post’s requests for comment.

A delivery driver discovered the bodies of Henderson and Davis behind a Publix grocery store in Roswell early Monday morning. The shopping center is located approximately 25 miles from downtown Atlanta.

A police report indicates Henderson was Davis’ ex-girlfriend, according to the Roswell Patch.

Davis was to start his senior year at River Ridge High School on Monday, where he played football and lacrosse.

Henderson attended Roswell High School, where she was a member of the band and color guard.

A motive in the slayings remains unclear. However, Frommer did tell The North Fulton Neighbor on Wednesday “there is no indication of any drug involvement.”

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Roswell Police Department at (770) 640-4100 or Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
