Jessica Simpson Opens Up About The Breast Reduction Surgery She Almost Had

"Media scrutiny sucks."

“If you put her in a T-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexy in both. She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!” Joe Simpson once creepily said of his daughter Jessica Simpson.

Comments like those and the media scrutiny surrounding female celebrities’ bodies is what most likely drove the pop star to consider a breast reduction.

“My boobs just have their own life, they have a way of making themselves present,” Simpson candidly admitted in the September issue of Women’s Health magazine. “I thought I was going to get a breast reduction.”

The billion-dollar retail empress ultimately decided against the surgery and came to terms with the size of her breasts, especially after kids Maxwell and Ace.

“But after having kids, I look at myself and I’m like, you know what, my boobs are actually really big, but I like how they are,” she continued. “They’re an asset, and Eric [Johnson, her husband] loves them still.”

However, the blonde bombshell still struggles with body image just like the rest of us. Her stomach, she says, is an area that she’s been insecure about in the past, but has slowly yet surely learned to love it.

“Recently, since I’ve worked out so hard, I’m also loving my stomach ― knowing I grew babies in it, and then having to go through a transformation and just owning it,” Simpson said.

But try as she might to not be distracted by negative headlines and internet trolls, Simpson revealed that some times all the “media scrutiny sucks.”

Considering her slew of bikini Instagrams as of late, we’re happy to see Simpson twirl on her haters and embrace her curves. Did someone say “Irresistible”?
