Daniel Radcliffe Conjured Up An Email Address A Mere Three Years Ago

Call him, beep him, if ya wanna reach Daniel Radcliffe, because when it comes to technology he’s about 10 years behind.

On Tuesday, Radcliffe addressed his absence from social media platforms during a video interview with The New York Times to promote his new film, “Imperium.” The 27-year-old has no public Twitter or Instagram accounts to his name, and it sounds like he won’t be double-tapping or favoriting posts any time soon.

“I think Twitter is great for certain things and certain people, there are people I really enjoy reading on Twitter,” Radcliffe said, according to People. “But I don’t know why anyone in my position would ever be on it.”

Joining Twitter would be a seriously big step for the “Harry Potter” actor, considering he was only introduced to email three years ago. Yep, Radcliffe hadn’t hit “reply all” until 2013.

“I managed to not [email] because I loved not having it, and then I had to get it ‘cause I joined a fantasy football league,” he told the audience when asked about his attitude toward technology.

We don’t know what’s worse: that Radcliffe never responded to the countless number of fan emails we sent to him in middle school or that he plays fantasy football. (Definitely fantasy football.)

But is Radcliffe’s decision to give technology a hard pass really that surprising? He’s never seemed to cherish the spotlight, and social media, as we all know, can be unrelentingly cruel.

Just look at his reaction after reading a mean tweet on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” His sweet, sensitive soul was never meant to mingle with Twitter’s vitriol. Save yourself while you still can, Daniel, and “obliviate” any knowledge of social media post-MySpace.
