Your Favorite '90s Nicktoon, 'Rocko's Modern Life,' Is Back!

You won't wallaby anywhere else.

In honor of 25 years of Nickelodeon’s original animation, the studio got you a birthday present.

Rocko’s Modern Life,” your fave Nicktoon from the ‘90s, is officially coming back in an original one-hour TV special. According to a Nickelodeon press release, the special will bring back “all the show’s classic characters and offer some surprising new takes on life in O-Town.”

OK, so who else forgot that the place Rocko lived was called O-Town? Wasn’t that a band with Ashley Parker Angel?

Ahhh! The nostalgia won’t stop! Or will it?

Series creator Joe Murray, who is coming on as executive producer, said bringing the characters back actually isn’t as much about “nostalgia” as it is about a sense that they “still feel relevant.”

“After 20 years, they can’t wait to comment on modern life in the 21st century,” said Murray in a press release.

Nickelodeon

For everyone who needs a refresher, “Rocko’s Modern Life” told the story of an Australian wallaby named Rocko and his two pals, Heffer Wolfe and Filburt, as they went through their modern lives in O-Town. The series had a lot of adult humor and social commentary that probably went over our heads at the time. But now we’re adults, so this time around things are going to be different.

(Being an adult is so great, right? We drink coffee and pay taxes. If you don’t know what those are, you’re probably too young. Ha, ha. #ClassicAdultHumor.)

“Rocko’s Modern Life” now joins “Hey Arnold!” and “Legends of the Hidden Temple” as classic Nickelodeon series getting the comeback treatment. At this rate, watch out for others to follow, because your ‘90s childhood is the only thing that matters to Nickelodeon, apparently.

And like the band O-Town, we want it all. Or nothing at all.

A release date for the “Rocko’s Modern Life” special has not been announced.
