Mario Lopez And Son Take On 22 Push-Up Challenge To Honor Vets

Mario Lopez recently recruited his 2-year-old son Dominic to help him take part in the 22 Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness about the 22KILL movement.

The movement was started by Honor Courage Commitment, Inc. in 2013, and is meant to draw attention to the fact that, according to a 2012 Suicide Data Report, an average of 22 veterans die by suicide everyday.

Participants of the 22 Push-Up Challenge are encouraged to record and share a video of themselves doing their push-ups. Naturally, Lopez obliged.

“Extra” shared a video (seen above) of the father-son duo completing the challenge Tuesday.

Lopez and his son join a growing list of celebrities who have taken the challenge, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Chris Pratt, Anna Faris, John Krasinski, Chris Evans and Kevin Hart. And the 42-year-old “Extra” host is doing his part to make sure others join the ranks.

Lopez posted a video of himself taking on the challenge, again, on Instagram Wednesday.

“[Scott] Bakula challenged me to the 22 Push-Up Challenge, and then I’m gonna challenge someone else,” he explained.

After completing the challenge, this time on his own, and dressed in full police gear on the set of “NCIS: New Orleans,” Lopez nominated actor Michael Weatherly to do the same.
