Hot Air Balloon Plunges Into Power Lines, Knocks Out City's Electricity

Incredibly, no one was injured in the crash in Clyde, Ohio.

A hot air balloon crashed into power lines and left residents in Clyde, Ohio, without electricity Monday.

Two people were on board the aircraft when it plummeted into the cables near Limerick Park at 6:45 p.m, The Sandusky Register reports.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene and found part of the balloon draped over the lines.

The duo were still inside its basket, but they were not injured. Authorities did not publicly name the pair.

Police are investigating what caused the crash, The Toledo Blade reports.

Local resident Bill Chesnutte broadcast the above footage of the clear-up operation over Facebook Live.

The power outage affected much of the 6,300-population city, according to reports. Authorities restored electricity by around 10:40 p.m., per 13ABC.
