This Heartbreaking Video Shows What It's Like To Live With Depression

Spoiler alert: It's terrible.

Depression is notorious for making those who suffer from it think very little of themselves. “Nobody cares about me,” “I’ve failed everyone” and “I’m worthless” are likely part of a depressed person’s daily inner dialogue.

Additionally, the mental health disorder leads to poor sleep, loss of motivation and tearfulness (not to mention it comes with crippling physical symptoms, too.) In other words, it’s all-consuming.

In the video above, The Mighty breaks down many of the thoughts that race through a depressed mind. The PSA also features actor Wentworth Miller, who recently opened up about his own experience with depression.

The most important takeaway? You’re not alone. So many people understand what you’re going through.

If you or someone you know needs help, call 1-800-273-8255 for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Outside of the U.S., please visit the International Association for Suicide Prevention for a database of resources.
