Donald Trump Jr. might want to lay off the candy.
The son of the Republican presidential candidate was skewered on Twitter on Monday for his bizarre comparison of refugees to a bowl of Skittles (some of which had been poisoned).
Here’s Trump’s original tweet:

“Skittles” quickly became a trending topic, inspiring more than 150,000 related tweets:

JR: “If I had a bowl of skittles and I told you just three would kill you. Would you take a handful?”
— Dave Pell (@davepell) September 20, 2016
If your dad wins, I’ll eat them all.
Based on actual odds of getting killed by terrorist refugee, you'd need 10.8 billion skittles to find 3 killers https://t.co/Ba5HNFhvM1

@DonaldJTrumpJr It's funny, I feel that way about Trump children, except the metaphor breaks down when the giant orange Skittle nukes France

This is 100% Trump. Offering up free Skittles, but surprise, surprise they actually kill you. https://t.co/c7V1i7v15E

If you told me that three @skittles in each bowl are poisonous, I'd look at the data and conclude that you're wrong about Skittle safety.

Woke up to a terrorist notice on my phone. Going to bed to "Skittles has issued a statement." Dreams should be interesting tonight.
