Courteney Cox will always be there for her friend Jennifer Aniston.
The actress defended her former “Friends” co-star and BFF after Entertainment Tonight asked Cox about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce at a luncheon on Tuesday. Of course, they also found a way to tie Aniston into it.
“I feel like we’re exacerbating it by even talking about it,” Cox said, visibly annoyed at the question as she moved down the red carpet at the Revlon event. “It’s not about her.”
The actress’ comments echoed Justin Theroux’s recent statement about his wife getting wrapped up in Brangelina’s split news. Aniston’s husband described her involvement as “nonsense” in an interview with Business Insider and explained why people still want to associate her with Pitt and Jolie.
“There’s an endless appetite for trash, apparently, though everyone would say that they don’t have that appetite. But I think a lot of people do because people buy it,” Theroux said of the tabloid fodder. “But there are bigger things to bitch about. It’s shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world.”
The actor added, “As a child of divorce all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children and that’s all you can really say. It’s boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time, that’s horrible.”
