Megyn Kelly Goes After Kellyanne Conway On Trump's Misogyny

And gently reminds her that Hillary Clinton is "killing him with women."

Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway spectacularly blundered during an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Wednesday in her defense of the Republican presidential nominee’s habit of attacking women.

Conway complained that Trump was unfairly criticized after Monday night’s debate. She added that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton had attempted to “rough him up,” during the debate and in campaign ads, over “a couple of comments he’s made over 25 years or so with respect to women.”

Kelly took the opportunity to hit Conway hard.

“Kellyanne, come on,” she responded. “The ads that she’s running about him when it comes to his comments on women use his words.”

She continued after Conway tried to play down the extent of Trump’s misogynistic statements.

“You know that’s not true. You know he has repeatedly made comments about women ― about their looks, their size, their weight, even in this campaign,” Kelly said, referencing his stabs at the looks of his former GOP rival Carly Fiorina and businesswoman Heidi Cruz, who is the wife of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Clinton.

Conway again said she didn’t understand why Clinton keeps hitting him with negative ads.

“Because she’s killing him with women and she sees an advantage there and is trying to exploit it,” Kelly said matter-of-factly.

Kelly did, in highlighting some of Trump’s inconsistencies, note that he has no issue hiring or promoting women despite his history of berating them. Conway, was an example of that, she added.

Conway took that opportunity to tell Kelly that Trump should emphasize his female hiring record in the next debate.

Clinton decisively emerged victorious over Trump in the first debate, coming off as more presidential and better prepared, according to a new HuffPost/ YouGov poll.
