Rob Lowe On What Made Him Fall In Love With His Wife All Over Again

Rob Lowe, who has talked at length about how difficult it was when his two sons left home, recently revealed an upside to becoming an empty nester.

“What’s amazing is I’m looking at my wife going ‘I remember you. I used to really like you,’” the 52-year-old told TODAY at an event last week. “We liked to travel and go to the movies and dinner and talk. All of the sudden, it’s reminding me of what it was like when we were first together. We both have time to fulfill our other destinies and get to know each other in a totally different way.”

And judging by his Instagram photos, that’s exactly what he’s been up to with his wife, Sheryl Lowe, 55, since their sons went off to college.

Lowe has shared photos of himself looking totally smitten with his love of 25 years, whether they’re vacationing on the beach or heading out for date night.

The couple bid farewell to their younger son, John, in 2014, making them empty nesters.

While academics are important to any parent, Lowe told TODAY that it doesn’t make the transition any easier. Lowe has talked openly in the past about the emotional upheaval of sending his sons to college, recalling tears and his “heart breaking.” He wrote about the experience in his book, “Love Life.”

As for falling in love with his wife all over again, looking pretty much exactly as he did in the ‘90s when the couple wed can’t hurt.

The actor, known for his ageless good looks, said staying youthful is all about “genetics and healthy choices.” In addition to being sober for over 25 years, Lowe has also launched his own skincare line, Profile, specifically formulated for men.
