Sean Hannity Has A Weird Fascination With Hillary Clinton's Underwear

Sean Hannity wants Donald Trump to air Hillary Clinton’s laundry... literally.

According to documents leaked to The New York Times, Trump claimed a staggering $916 million loss on his 1995 tax returns, which may have allowed him to avoid paying federal income taxes for up to 18 years. This could also be the reason why the GOP nominee has failed to release his tax returns to the public.

Speaking on his radio show on Thursday, Hannity said the key to winning Sunday night’s debate will be to talk about underwear when Clinton raises questions about Trump’s taxes.

“She can talk about Trump’s taxes all she wants. All Trump has to do is turn to her and say, ‘Why did you deduct your old underwear?’” Hannity said, according to remarks posted online by Media Matters.

“I think that would be impactful. At that point, it’s checkmate,” Hannity said. “She’s trying to do everything she can do to pay less. Who is she to lecture him, and all he’s doing is following the rules and the laws that people like her, lifetime politicians, set up? And she used it herself. So ridiculous.”

It’s not clear from the clip what Hannity was talking about, but the Clintons were mocked in the early 1990s when their highly itemized charitable contributions included not just deductions for donated clothing but specific articles of clothing, including a $2 deduction for underwear, according to a Times report from 1993. Deductions for clothing “in good used condition” donated to charity are allowed under IRS rules.

Trump’s tax situation was far more complicated. He’s been accused of making payments from his charity to settle personal obligations as well as using money from that same charity to purchase two portraits of himself. He also paid a fine for using his charity’s money to make a campaign donation to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who at the time was considering an investigation into fraud allegations against him.

She did not investigate.
