Trump To Howard Stern: I've Never Had A Gay Thought In My Life

If you were worried, for whatever reason, that Donald Trump might be gay ― or might have even ever had a single gay thought ― you can now rest easy.

At least, that’s if you take the Republican presidential nominee at his word (and that’s a big “if,” right?).

CNN’s KFiles division reviewed “hours of newly uncovered audio” between Trump and radio host Howard Stern recorded over the last 17 years for a piece aimed at providing “previously unreported examples of Trump engaging in crude conversations.” The topics addressed during the interviews range from Trump’s thoughts on his daughter Ivanka’s body to beauty pageant contestants to his own sex life.

In the clip below from 2010 (starting near the 1:32 mark), the two men discussed golf champion Tiger Woods’ extra-marital affairs. Of them, Trump noted, “One thing we’ve learned about Tiger Woods, definitely, he is not gay,” to which Stern agreed, “Absolutely not gay.”

Trump then reminded Stern of “one of the great interviews of all time” that the radio host had done with a man who said “he only had one or two events with a man but that he wasn’t gay and you said, ‘Anyone who’s had one or two events with a man is gay.’” Stern replied, “Absolutely!” before asking Trump how many “events” he’s had with a man.

“Zero,” Trump says. “Not even a thought.”

Trump continued, “With all that I’ve had, I’ve never had a thought,” and then added, “there’s never been a big thought process, you know… Never even like a thought... let’s put it this way, during ‘the event’ there’s never a thought of Jimmy or Ronald or any of that, no. No thoughts.”

Perhaps if Trump had thought a single gay thought in his entire life, he wouldn’t have said that he would “strongly consider” appointing Supreme Court justices who would overturn marriage equality and he wouldn’t have met with over 400 of the most anti-queer leaders in the country earlier this year.

Our apologies, straight people, but he’s all yours.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
