Domino's Will Deliver Pizza By Canoe. We're Not Joking.

This pizza delivery is making waves across the pond.

On Monday, Domino’s Pizza UK began testing a new service in which delivery employees bring food by canoe to customers along the Loose Stream in Kent, England. As part of the stunt, the chain will also contribute to conservation efforts aimed at preserving the area’s famous waterways.

Domino’s has made a donation to the Loose Conservation Trust, which is run by the Kent County Council, and will contribute about $1.23 for each order made through the delivery service until Oct. 31, a spokesperson for Domino’s UK told The Huffington Post in an email.

The trial service will run for two weeks. Customers can order by calling the Domino’s location in the village of Loose and specifically request the special service. Trained pizza delivery “buoys,” dressed in wetsuits, will drop off the orders.

To avoid any tragic pizza casualties, the food is transported in floatable boxes and also attached to a life buoy. Because why take any chances?

Debbie Hayes, the first customer to order through the canoe service, seemed really stoked about the trial.

“It’s great living by the river but it has always been impossible to get food delivered to our house so we owe Domino’s a big thank you for allowing us to have a night in,” she said in a release.
