A local news organization in Portland, Maine is hosting a watch party for the presidential debate next week, with some very special guests in attendance.

Research has shown that cuddling kittens ― and hearing them purr ― can reduce your risk of heart attacks while lowering stress and blood pressure. Of course, this is mew-sic to our ears right now.

“By the end of the first debate, people were clearly a little worn down,” Dan MacLeod, editor of Bangor Daily News Portland, told HuffPost. “Kittens help everything, generally.”

If you’re in the Portland area, the organization’s debate watch party is free to attend, and all you’ll need to do is RSVP online. Adoption surveys will be available for anyone who would like to take a kitten home after the event.

Just don’t name him Donald, please.
