Hillary Clinton Praises Michelle Obama's Speech On Donald Trump's Sexism

Hillary Clinton praised Michelle Obama’s moving speech that explained why Donald Trump’s sexism was so hurtful, saying it crystallized what so many women across the country feel.

“The speech that she gave, I think put into words what so many people are feeling and not just women and girls, men and boys. In another part of her speech she said, ‘This is not the way the men in my house talk.’ And that’s what I’ve been hearing from men for the last several days. People are saying, ‘Wait a minute,’” the Democratic presidential nominee said in an interview on “Ellen” that aired Friday. “A lot of athletes have actually come forward and said, ‘That is not what we talk about in the locker room,’ because nobody wants to be associated with this kind of really violent and hateful language.”

“It’s not just what Trump has said about women, as terrible as that has been. What he said about immigrants and African-Americans and Latinos and people with disabilities and POWs and our military and Muslims and everybody. He has been so insulting and derogatory,” she continued.

In a stunning speech on Thursday, Obama said that a 2005 tape in which Trump bragged about sexually assaulting women had “shaken me to my core.” Obama said women are all too familiar with the kind of language the GOP presidential nominee used.

“The shameful comments about our bodies. The disrespect of our ambitions and intellect. The belief that you can do anything you want to a woman,” the first lady said. “It is cruel. It is frightening. And the truth is, it hurts. It hurts.”
