College Football Player And His Teammates Pull Off Winning Proposal

This heartwarming college football proposal was a true team effort.

On Saturday, Samford University linebacker Deion Pierre popped the question to girlfriend Jasmine Henderson after the team’s 55-21 victory against Virginia Military Institute at their home stadium outside of Birmingham, Alabama.

But he didn’t do it alone. Pierre’s teammates gathered around Henderson, holding roses and singing along to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” before he got down on bended knee in the middle of the field.

“It meant a lot,” Pierre told The Huffington Post. “To have a team of brothers to be behind me, supporting me and to be willing to do this in front of everyone was great.”

As Pierre’s fellow Bulldogs looked on, an emotional Henderson happily accepted the proposal (who wouldn’t?). Then the players rejoiced, chanting, “She said yes!” in celebration.

“Jasmine was in shock then and she is still in shock as we speak,” Pierre told HuffPost. “Everything was a big surprise to her. She was not expecting it at all, and we definitely weren’t expecting this to go viral!”

Pierre summed it all up perfectly afterwards saying, “I won twice today.”
